Donated Collection 3: Diversity of Donated Cultural Heritage
The desire to share heritage with others has led to donations to museums. Many cultural heritages that had been in the hands of private collectors became an important part of the museum collections. Nearly 50,000 objects that our museum received over the decades include ceramics, metalwork, wooden furniture, paintings, and calligraphy. The following sections will explore a variety of cultural heritage of Korea, such as literati objects from calligraphy and books to stationery and boudoir crafts. The subsequent sections will highlight the materials, clay and metal, and worldwide cultural heritage.
