Donated Collection 4: Rediscovery of Traditional Art
As other donors, artists also collected old objects and gifted them to the museum. With a keen eye for aesthetics, they contributed in revealing the beauty hidden in old objects. Some discovered modern sculptural tendencies in the contours, proportions, and textures of wooden furniture, and others discovered possibilities for sustainability and future directions for contemporary art from the vibrant designs and color combinations of folk art. Even further, artists created artworks inspired by traditional art as a source for a new stage of their artistic output. We invite you to experience the beauty that these artists have discovered from their donated traditional artworks and their vision expressed through the contemporary works.
