This painting was a collaborative work done by Gim Du-ryang (1696–1763) and his son Gim Deok-ha (1722–1772).
This work portrays the impressive pastoral lifestyle of the noblemen during the four seasons. The farming scene and the different customs of each season are important subjects. In the spring sequence, three scholars are enjoying themselves in a garden of peach trees that are in full bloom. In the summer sequence, two scholars are taking pleasure in a game of Korean chess. The verse written in ink reads as follows:

″In spring and summer, the peach and plum flowers that have blossomed in the garden are a magnanimous and merry sight.
Illyeongheon writes on an auspicious day in the first month of spring of the year of Gapja in 1744
Gim Du-ryang drew a draft of the painting.″
