The Chinese characters written on the upper right part state that this is a portrait of Choe Ik-hyeon painted by Chae Yong-sin in 1905 when Choe was 74 years old. Choe appears to be wearing a hunter’s winter hat. The portrait depicts light and dark and the unevenness of his face with numerous brown lines.
