    Calligraphy and Painting

This is a late work by Kang Se-hwang (pen-name: Pyoam), a poet, calligrapher, painter and critic who attained a high level of achievement in poetry, calligraphy and painting. This work is comprised of four scrolls containing detailed explanations of the meaning of ancestral rites and the attitudes and mindset required when attending such rites. Written in regular script, his handwriting is relatively slender, with brushstrokes both sharp and flexible at the same time. These characteristics also manifest themselves in his semi-cursive and cursive scripts. Notably, this exudes a somewhat relaxed atmosphere characteristic of his later period.
