There are very few surviving examples in Korea of the technique of painting in copper under a celadon glaze, although it underwent major development in the country. This prunus vase decorated using this technique is particularly rare, making it a valuable component of Korea’s artistic heritage. The vase displays peony sprays inlaid in white and black on the body with flower petals in copper underglaze.
