In this portrait, Yun Jip, a civil official of the mid-Joseon period, is wearing a green ceremonial robe with an attached rank badge embroidered with a crane design. The chair on which he sits is upholstered with leopard skin, and the footrest and the floor are covered with flowered mats with matching patterns. Judging from the rather schematic description of the robe’s creases and continuous skin grains, the painting was made in the first half of the 19th century.
