The National Museum of Korea and the ICOM Korea co-host an international conference under the title "Protection of Cultural Heritage and the Global Communication", with experts invited from inside and outside of the country on Friday, May 13th, 2011.
The 5th International Conference of the Korean Museum Association, a part of its 2011 General Conference and General Assembly (May 13th~16th), discusses the current status of and future plans regarding the protection of cultural heritage and the involvement of international cooperation of which the global awareness is rapidly increasing. It will take an opportunity to look back on the past incidents regarding the cultural heritage occurred by natural disasters and political unrests around the globe and suggest possible measures to effectively respond to the damages done to the cultural heritage and relics.
This conference highly expects to provide a great opportunity for the general public to exchange opinions and information with the field experts and professional scholars, and invites the attendants to actively engage in discussions with the invited speakers.
