Gilt-bronze Crown

This gilt-bronze crown was discovered in Jisan-dong Tomb 32 in Goryeong. A number of gold and gilt-bronze crowns worn by the Gaya elite have been found in the former territory of Daegaya, especially in the regions of Goryeong and Seongjoo. Unlike Silla crowns, Gaya crowns do not have a consistent shape or standard pattern, instead taking diverse forms. Also, whereas Silla crowns are characterized by branch-shaped uprights, the uprights of Gaya crowns tend to be in the shape of flowers and grasses.
