Daho-ri Wooden-coffin Grave
One of the most important archaeological sites dating from the Samhan period is Grave 1 from the Daho-ri site in Changwon, which is a nearly perfectly preserved example of a wooden-coffin grave, accompanied by a pit where various grave goods were placed. Unlike Chinese-style wooden coffins, which were made from multiple planks of wood, this coffin was made from a single log. The grave stands out from other wooden-coffin graves at the site, so it is believed to have been the resting place of a community leader. Based on analysis of the grave goods, this grave dates to the late first century BCE.
