Below the rim of this ceramic vessel, there is a clay band decorated with notches and bumps, made by pressing or cutting the clay. Beaker- or bowl-shaped vessels with these notched raised bands around the mouth have been widely found throughout the Korean peninsula. Also, jars with notched raised bands have been found in some areas, and vessels with notched raised bands around the body have been found in northern Korea.
