End Scrapers
End scrapers were made by working a stone flake or blade to produce a relatively tall, steep edge, usually along the longer axis of the stone. Generally requiring more advanced and delicate retouching than ordinary scrapers, end-scrapers demonstrate the advancement of blade technology. End scrapers of the Late Paleolithic period have a standardized form, and are thus considered to be representative tools of the era. The steep angle of the scraping edge suggests that they could have been used to work leather.
