This inscription is about the fourth daughter of the 15th King of Goryeo, Sukjong. Princess Bongnyeong was a sister of King Yejong and the wife of Wang Yeon. She died young at the age of 38. Although the inscription lists the year under the Song Dynasty of China, the princess was styled as “the daughter of the Son of Heaven”. This signifies the pride of Goryeo in proclaiming to be a country ruled by “the Son of Heaven” despite its tributary relationship with China.
