Uigwe for Installing the Royal Coffin Hall of King Sukjong

The royal coffin hall of King Sukjong was arranged at Jajeongjeon Hall in Gyeongdeokgung Palace. The Directorate of the Royal Coffin Hall managed the procedures at the royal coffin hall. The doseol illustrations at the beginning of this Uigwe depict the hall's internal structure, including the changung structure, built to protect the royal coffin, as well as the spirit seat and spirit bed, set up to place the temporary spirit tablet of the deceased. During the day, the tablet sat on the spirit seat and was moved to the spirit bed at night.
