In the lower portion of this long vertical painting is a deer crossing a stream. In the upper portion, a parrot perched on a branch looks down at the deer. Each hair on the deer, is delineated with a brown line, but the hairs on the bent parts of its body are depicted sparsely to create a sense of volume.
