This work features a large number of sparrows flying into a field and pecking at the ripening crops. The flocks of sparrows, ripening grains, and yellowed leaves fill the composition in a harmonious manner. Since sparrow paintings were thought to attract good fortune, they enjoyed popularity in China as well.
