This manuscript relates the content of the second volume of the Saddharmapundarika Sutra (The Lotus Sutra) Volume 2. This manuscript has a frontispiece presenting a scene in which an audience including numerous bodhisattvas has gathered to hear the Buddha’s sermon. In front of the Buddha are several bodhisattvas and monks shown kneeling with their hands held together while listening to the Buddha’s words. The gathering scene is followed by detailed depictions of the content of the “Parables” and “Belief and Understanding” chapters.
