Wisteria and Butterflies

The work displayed here is the left half of a pair of hanging scrolls. It illustrates wisteria, butterflies, moths, and a cicada. The white and yellow patterns on the body of the robust cicada perched in a tree and the wings of the tiger swallowtail butterfly are true to life. The downward and sideway motions of moths as they fly are skillfully depicted.
