Flowers and Butterflies

In this painting, two butterflies are flying towards some peonies and fragrant plantains. This composition of setting flowers in the center with butterflies flying around them is commonly found in painting manuals. The outlines of the stems and leaves expressed by smudging of light colors rather than with ink lines and the white spaces left between the stems and leaves are similar to the stylistic characteristics of Sim Sajeong.
