Lobed Ewer
This is an example of a sculptural celadon imitating the shape of a Korean melon (chamoe). Korean melons were commonly used as motifs for celadon during the Goryeo period for ewers, bottles and other vessels since the grooves on the surface made them easy to replicate. In addition to pieces passed down through generations, a number of examples of melon-shaped ewers used as burial items in tombs have also been discovered.
