Ewer with Lotus Petal

The round, globe-shaped body is incised with lotus patterns, and the knob on the lid features a crouching monkey with its hands clasped over its mouth. Many celadon ewers were produced during the Goryeo Dynasty, reflecting the well-developed tea and alcohol traditions of the period. A matching bowl-like basin that was filled with hot water to hold the ewer and keep its contents warm has survived together with this piece.
