Bottle with Fish, Buncheong ware painted in underglaze iron–brown

This vessel was first coated entirely with white slip and then painted with fish designs in iron oxide. Buncheong ware with iron-painted
designs is generally characterized by free-spirited brushstrokes, but this vessel demonstrates a distinctive look with areas of the peony
and fish motifs filled in. The fish depicted only in lines creates a contrast in its expression.
