Celadon Plate with Cranes, Clouds and Peony with inlaid design painted in underglaze copper-red
This is a rectangular plate with trimmed corners. It has thin edges that grow thicker towards the middle. The center of the upper surface of
the plate features designs of peony branches inlaid in black and white enclosed within an ogival frame. The area surrounding the frame is covered entirely with designs of clouds and cranes. Plates such as this example have been uncovered from celadon kiln sites in Yuncheon-ri in Buan, Jeollabuk-do Province.
