Celadon Maebyeong, Vase with Pine Tree and Figure with inlaid design
The figure playing musical instruments, cranes, and pine trees are reminiscent of the writing created by the Goryeo literati to express
their wishes to enter the realm of immortals and live in harmony with nature. Figure playing musical instruments and cranes dancing
to their tunes made up a popular motif at the time that was also employed on silver incense bowls from Tang dynasty China and
paintings in the Yuan dynasty.
