Celadon Cups and Covered Box with marbling design
A vessel can be formed with a mixture of the base clay commonly used for producing celadon, white clay, and red clay and fired after
applying a transparent celadon glaze to reveal a marbled design. This type of ceramics is known as marbled ware. This production technique began during the Tang dynasty in China. Unlike its Chinese counterpart, marbled ware from the Goryeo dynasty is characterized
by a natural color palette based on the base clay.
