Celadon from Jangneung Royal Tomb
The celadon vessels recovered from Jangneung, the royal tomb of
King Injong of the Goryeo dynasty, are characterized by jade-green
glazing, a clean glazed surface free from crackling, and a neat, cleancut
form. Based on the fact that it is rimmed to allow other stands to
be stacked on it and the center of the upper side is concave to allow
contents to be placed on it, this square stand is presumed to have
been one among a stackable set.
