This white porcelain stemmed cup is decorated with iron-brown underglaze designs of chrysanthemums and insects in its interior. This type of vessel was also produced in buncheong and white porcelain with inlaid designs. From the late fifteenth century onwards, this type of stemmed cup was produced at the official court kilns in soft-paste white porcelain without any decoration. It was used for holding liquor or tea at state rituals or events.
