Jar with Plum and Bamboo, White porcelain painted in underglaze cobalt-blue
This small white porcelain jar features plum branches arranged at two points on the body accompanied by a spray of bamboo. In the early Joseon era, pine, bamboo, and plum, collectively known as the “Three Friends of Winter,” were popular motifs for decorating white porcelain with cobalt-blue underglaze, and this piece features two of them.
