Started from June 22, the National Museum of Korea removed internet security and firewall from the website (http://www.museum.go.kr), which enables viewers to download or print out any image freely from a total of 2,780 collections.

However, the free download is limited to non-commercial use only, and any other purpose should acquire permission from the museum in advance.

The director of the NMK, Choe Kwang-shik said, “Being a favorite museum in Korea, the NMK continues its effort to popularize our valuable heritage to the public. We expect the new policy allows many on-line visitors to have easy access to the exhibits and better understanding of our culture”.

The NMK is preparing to upload more images of the exhibits in detail and with enhanced quality in coming October.
