Uigwe for Funeral of Queen Jangryeol

The Directorate of State Funeral, along with the Directorate of the Royal Coffin Hall and the Directorate of the Royal Tomb, oversaw the funeral process from the funeral procession carrying the coffin of Queen Jangryeol five months after her passing all the way to the burial at her tomb. At the end of the Uigwe is a banchado illustration shows the funeral procession heading to the tomb. Unlike the funeral procession of kings, curtains were draped on both sides of the bier bearing the queen’s body, preventing people from seeing it.
