<청자실 개편>

국립중앙박물관에서는 2021년 2월 개관한 분청사기·백자실의 후속이자
상설전시관 3층 도자공예실의 완결로 새롭게 단장한 청자실을 공개합니다.

청자를 처음 만들었던 중국인들도 천하제일이라 칭송했던 고려청자의 비색은
고려인의 높은 과학기술과 문화적 역량, 예술혼이 고스란히 담겨있는
고려시대 대표 문화유산입니다.
이번 전시에서는 <청자 투각 칠보무늬 향로>, <청자 참외모양 병>, <청자 상감 매화 대나무 학무늬 매병> 등 국보 12점과 보물 12점을 비롯하여 총 250여 점의 고려청자를 전시하고 있습니다.
몰입형 감상공간인 ‘고려비색’에는 비색청자 중에서도 비색과 조형성이 완벽하게 조화를 이룬 상형청자 18점도 함께 전시되고 있습니다.
또한 청자의 미적 가치뿐 아니라 제작기법, 쓰임새, 그리고 자기 제작의 시작과 완성이라는
문화사적 의의도 보여주며 고려인들의 자연관을 이해하는 데 도움이 될 것입니다.
아울러 모두를 위한 박물관에 한 발 더 다가가기 위해
점자지도와 상감청자 제작과정을 담은 촉각전시품 등을 설치하여
취약계층을 위한 공간도 마련했습니다.
자연을 사랑하고 동경했던 고려인의 마음,
그리고 그 마음을 구현한 고려청자의 아름다움을 감상하며
비 갠 뒤의 먼 하늘 푸른 빛에 물든 고려 하늘을 느껴 보시길 바랍니다.

한국의 아름다움을 상징하는 대표 문화재인 고려청자의 진면목을 보여주기 위해서
심혈을 기울여 준비했습니다.
이번 개편에서는 고려비색의 공간을 새롭게 조성해서 절정기 비색청자의 아름다움과
뛰어난 조형성을 보여주는 데 집중했습니다.
새롭게 개편한 청자실에 오셔서 아름다운 고려청자를 감상하시면서
평온한 휴식시간을 갖게 되시길 바랍니다.

Opening of Celadon Gallery

The National Museum of Korea (NMK) will be unveiling its Celadon Gallery, which marks the finalization of the Sculpture and Crafts Hall in the Permanent Exhibitions Hall (3F), after opening the Buncheong Ware and White Porcelain Gallery in February, 2021.
The jade hue of Goryeo celadon, which was highly praised by even the Chinese, who were the first to manufacture celadon, is a cultural heritage that reflects the dynasty’s advanced capabilities in both the arts and sciences.
The exhibition will feature 250 items of Goryeo celadon, including 12 National Treasures and 12 Treasures.
Displayed items will include the “Celadon Incense Burner with Openwork design,”
“Celadon with Lobed Vase,” and “Celadon Maebyeong Vase with Inlaid Plum Blossoms, Bamboos and Cranes Design” “Goryeo Bisaek: The Jade Hues of Goryeo” is an immersive viewing space that displays 18 items of Goryeo celadon that are shaped like a particular object or animal and were selected for the beautiful harmony created by their finely-crafted shapes and jade green color.
In addition to the aesthetic value of celadon, this exhibition will show the significance of its production methods and uses as well as the use of mother-of-pearl within the context of Korea’s cultural history.
It will also teach visitors about how the people of Goryeo understood their natural environment.
In addition, there will be a Braille map of the exhibition and screen exhibits that show how inlaid celadon was produced at the time, in accordance with the NMK’s commitment to making its facilities more accessible to all visitors.
We hope you can fully experience the beauty of Goryeo celadon, which is often compared to a clear sky after a rain, through the objects on display and the Goryeo peoples’ love of nature that is embodied in each of them

We worked very hard to make sure that this exhibition conveys the quintessence of Goryeo celadon, one of the most well-known symbols of traditional Korean culture and its beauty.
“Goryeo Bisaek: The Jade Hues of Goryeo,” which was created as part of the renovation, was designed to accentuate the craftsmanship and beauty of jade celadon at its zenith in Korea. I highly recommend that visitors come see the beautiful celadon creations in our new Celadon Gallery, an experience that will be both restful and edifying.
