Spoon

Spoon is a tool for spooning water-soaked food or soup, consisting of a scooping up part and a handle. In Korea, a bone spoon was excavated from a site in the Bronze Age and bronze spoons was also found in the ruins of the Three Kingdoms Period. From this point of view, it seems that people have been using spoons widely since the Three Kingdoms Period at the latest. The shape of the spoon is formalized in the Goryeo Dynasty. Usually, the portion for the food is flat, and the end of the large curved handle becomes similar to the tail of the swallow. These spoons are found in many historical sites of the Goryeo Dynasty. People in China and Japan have used spoons for a long time. But Chinese spoons are more of a ladle, and ancient Japanese spoons were only used at banquets for foreign envoys. Therefore, spoons did not make up much of the diet habits of Chinese and Japanese people. The way Korea, China, and Japan eat has been very different from ancient time. The difference between these habits has continued to date.
