Bamboo-shoot-shaped Ewer

Celadon imitating the forms of animals, plants, or human figures is known as sculptural celadon. This vessel is characterized by a body wider at the bottom and narrower at the top that resembles a bamboo shoot overlaid with leaves. The handle, lid, and spout reflect the distinctive features of a bamboo culm with nodes. This is an outstanding example of sculptural celadon in which detailed artisanry is harmoniously combined with a green-hued glaze.
