Buncheong Jar with Inlaid and Stamped Cloud and Dragon Design

Buncheong Jar with Inlaid and Stamped Cloud and Dragon Design
This large buncheong jar highlights the voluptuous and majestic ceramic forms that began to appear with the production of Joseon buncheong. The inlay technique was used to make the jewel design on the shoulder, the dragon design on the mid-body, and the lotus design on the lower body, while stamped designs were applied in the intervening space. In terms of the patterns, composition, and production techniques, the jar shows the influence of Yuan and Ming porcelain, but the overall characteristics reflect the bold, carefree aesthetics of Joseon.
