This is a round bronze plaque on which a gold-plated haut-relief bronze Buddha statue is attached to the center. It also has lion-shaped metal rings on the left and right sides of the upper edge so it can be hung. In the center, a Buddha statue is sitting in lotus position, enveloped in a halo covered in plant-scroll designs, and flower vases are placed symmetrically to either side of the Buddha. Above the head of the Buddha, traces indicate that the chatra was once depicted. The Buddhist votive plaque made by creating a Buddha image on a mirror, the symbolic residence of Shinto gods, is a relic representing the syncretism of Shinto and Buddhism. Such plaques were hung on the eaves or inside of a temple or shrine and served as objects of worship.
