This incense burner unearthed in Gaeseong, in the portion of Gyeonggi-do Province currently located in North Korea, consists of a body in the shape of a lotus flower, a support formed as a downturned lotus flower, and a connecting section. Goryeo celadon lotus-shaped incense burners were inspired by incense burners introduced from China and are believed to have been specifically influenced by works produced at the Ru Kiln in China. Goryeo artisans initially faithfully followed the Chinese prototypes, but over time developed their own style by gradually adding new elements.
