This folding screen currently includes eight panels, although it may have originally been comprised of twelve panels. Compared to conventional paintings of Pyeongsaeongdo, or “Highlights of an Illustrious Life,” it is characterized by the unique compositions of “Wedding Day,” “60th Birthday Party” and “Resignation from an Official Post,” while its subject matters feature auspicious materials such as a jagged rock, a royal foxglove tree, a crane, a deer and other symbols. The delicate and orderly brushstrokes and brilliant colors indicate that it was painted in the late 19th or early 20th century.
