This bronze axe was among the Bronze Age artifacts unearthed from the archaeological site in Daegok-ri of Dogok-myeon, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do. Known to have developed from the fan-shaped axe, one of the most representative relics of Korean Bronze Age culture along with the Liaoning-style bronze dagger, this bronze axe exhibits a body with square shoulders. Its single-edged blade suggests that it was used more as an adze than an axe.
