Yi In-sang left behind many paintings drawing upon the Southern School style of literati paintings and displaying the dignity and integrity of a scholar. The bottom-left portion of this painting bears the impression of a seal containing his name. The pine trees and rocks symbolizing integrity and eternity appear to suggest the sublime philosophy and exalted spirit of a scholar.
