This 11th volume of the Acclamation of the Holy Teaching is included in the First Tripitaka Koreana Edition, the first printed Tripitaka in Korea. The Tripitakas of the Northern Song and Liao Dynasties were proofread, supplemented, and carved in woodblocks to produce the First Tripitaka Koreana Edition, completed in a total of six thousand volumes in 11th century. The woodblocks were destroyed in fire by the Mongolian troops, who invaded Goryeo in 1232, and currently, only a few hundred printed volumes have survived.
In the case of the First Tripitaka Koreana Edition, generally 22 lines, each consisting of 14 characters, were engraved in each woodblock and printed on paper. The printed sheets of paper were connected in order and made into a scroll. To the outer surface of the first sheet, indigo paper was attached to make the book cover. On the cover, the title and the sequential number of the chest for storing the scriptures according to the order of the Thousand-character Classic are written.
