Uigwe for the Constructing the Tomb of King Sukjong

This Uigwe details the construction process of Myeongneung Royal Tomb, the tomb of King Sukjong. This book features the doseol llustrations of the four directional deities (the blue dragon, white tiger, vermilion phoenix, and black tortoise), which were attached to the internal walls of the changung structure. Because the structure had to be burned up after the burial of the body, the actual paintings of the four deities are only seen in the doseol illustrations included in the Uigwe.
