Moon-Jar, White porcelain

This type of large white porcelain jar with a height of more than forty centimeters was produced between the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century. With a round, voluminous body, a nearly 1:1 ratio between the height and the widest diameter, and a milky white color, these jars are often referred to as “moon jars” for their resemblance to a full moon.
