Reed Instrument-shaped Water Dropper, White porcelain painted in underglaze copper-red

This white porcelain water dropper is shaped after a type of Korean reed wind instrument called saenghwang. Its entire body is coated in copper-red underglaze. The saenghwang was played at the royal ceremonies and banquets and was also used by seonbi (learned gentlemen) as part of their refined and elegant lifestyle. Common people incorporated it into their music as well.
