This liquor ewer features a deep stand shaped like a six-petaled flower. This form originated from bronze wares produced in China between the late Tang and Wu Dynasties. Similar styles have been found among the pottery produced in the Northern Song Dynasty. A decoration representing a lioness and her cub sitting on a double-layered lotus seat made of up- and down-turned lotus flowers sits on top of the lid.
