This pottery was unearthed from the archaeological site in Goejeong-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon. Its mouth is adorned with round, strip-shaped clay. This relic, along with items of burnished black pottery, represents the area south of the central area of the Korean Peninsula in the early Iron Age. As similar items have been unearthed from Liaoning Province in China, it is presumed that this type of pottery was introduced from China.
