Flat oil bottles made their debut slightly after celadon production reached its zenith. They are characterized by a stamped chrysanthemum design or a simple scroll design. Oxidized copper was added only to the center of the chrysanthemum to give it a red color, suggesting that copper glaze was used mainly for highlights.
