A great number of incense burners were made during both the Joseon and Goryeo eras. Incense burners were used in Buddhist temples and for sacrificial rituals. The ten symbols of longevity (pine, bamboo, grapevine, deer, turtle, crane, etc.) are portrayed in a circle on each side of this burner alongside inlaid geometric patterns.
