This bronze gong was used at a temple to call Buddhist monks and followers to assembly. It has loops on both sides from which it was hung. The gong features the inscription “hamong gunyeon gyechuk siworil Gyeongamsa banja” (咸雍九年癸丑十月日瓊巖寺盤子), indicating that it was made in 1073 (the 27th year of the reign of King Munjong of the Goryeo Dynasty).
