The Virtual collection of Asian Masterpieces (VCM) is an innovative project of the Asia-Europe Museum Network (ASEMUS) that presents a vast collection of Asian masterpieces through the web. The National Museum of Korea is actively working on preserving and promoting Asian cultural heritages as Asian Lead Partner.

The VCM provides an opportunity for everyone to appreciate the arts, regardless of financial or geographical circumstances. It also promotes vibrant communication among participating museums all around the world by introducing their valuable collections online. The mission of the VCM is to foster mutual understanding among people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Since its launch in 2007, the VCM Collection has been growing constantly: you can view more than 2,500 masterpieces and 136 museums from 35 countries at the VCM website. These fine examples of Asian creativity present compelling historical narratives. In 2013, the VCM website was renewed through a generous contribution by NAVER. Museums that house masterpieces of Asian origins can participate in VCM activities at no cost.
