For no recompense, many people have been donating cultural assets that they cherished to the museum so as to share Korean cultural assets. From the restoration of independence in 1945 to December 2004, 213 people have donated to the National Museum of Korea. These

people were not just Koreans of all walks of life including ordinary Koreans and prominent figures, etc. but also Koreans abroad and foreigners. The cases of donations of cultural assets by Koreans abroad and foreigners is very significant as it is the retrieval of our

cultural properties that were once lost from the country. The types of donated cultural assets range over various fields including bronze wares, ceramics, wooden furniture, metal crafts, stationery, and paintings, totaling 22,091 pieces. Among them, there are 6 National

Treasures and 32 treasures. The Donated cultural Assets collection showcases donations by Sir Son, Gi-jeong, Sir Kim Young-gi, Sir Byeon, Jong-ha, Sir Song, Seong-mun, Sir Beak, Jeong-yang, Sir, Kim, Hong-gi, Sir, Kim Hee-jin, Sir Shin, Young-soo, Sir Cheon,

Byeong-ok, Sir. Sikai Toshiaki, and Sir Nam, Gung-ryeon. The collection includes 1 national treasure and 4 treasures.
